About Cogitate

Cogitate is an Interactive Art Workshop located at Unit 1, 47 Buick Street, Petone. This new and exciting ‘art experience’ has been designed to allow participants to not only view and purchase NZ made creative works, but to also have the opportunity to exercise their right brain by participating in creating art through a variety of activities.

This art workshop is unique, delivering an artistic experience of variety, challenge and fun. Alternative art forms, interactive works and audience participation are the basis on which Cogitate was founded. This is not a ‘children’s’ play area – but a place where people can express themselves in a variety of artistic styles. The opportunity to express oneself is encouraged with as little or as much assistance as required. Also included in the experience is the opportunity to interact with some of the works and, where possible, meet the artist.

Cogitate is designed and operated with these ideas in mind - from the method of displaying, viewing and interacting with the art, the viewer’s perceptions and creative boundaries are expanded and exploded.
